As we announced at the last weekly meeting Emma, Adrian and Jill will be stepping down from their posts within The Filmmakers Coalition on 31 May. In the remaining time they will help facilitate new people taking over these roles. Elena Saorin is staying on in her role as Workshop Coordinator, Tim Pieraccini continues to be the Resources Coordinator and Noel Bateman will stay in place as the Online Editor. By the 31 May, we will have finished working on the new website with Steven Haw who is very kindly making this happen.

Apart from the fact that rotating roles is common practice in groups like ours, we also have some personal reasons for choosing to do this now. Emma Bailey has been running the Coalition for 2 and a half years, first with Daniel Fawcett and then with Adrian Worsfold. Emma is passing the torch over to others, so she can concentrate on her photography career. Adrian has been involved with the Coalition for two years and leading it for one and half. He is stepping down as Co-Head to take some time to reflect and begin planning his own filmmaking projects. Jill was a member of the group for a year before becoming our Communications Coordinator one and a half years ago. She will be heading off to Germany for research work this summer.

In our weekly bulletin we have also been advertising for the roles of Film Challenge Coordinator and Event Coordinator and as yet these positions still need to be filled. We suggest to only start running film challenges and events once someone has taken on these two roles, this is to ensure a fair distribution of the workload.

To sum up, we are looking for people of all ages and backgrounds with an interest in filmmaking and community work for these specific voluntary roles:
Head/Heads
Communications Coordinator
Event Coordinator
Film Challenge Coordinator

There are 3 more weekly meetings left with Adrian, Emma and Jill. Part of each of weekly meeting will be spent openly discussing with everyone how and who to pass these roles to. If you cannot attend the meetings, please email any questions or ideas you have to us at bfc[at]filmcoalition.co.uk.

It has been a fantastic experience working with you and we look forward to seeing this group continue being a space for filmmakers to share their ideas, knowledge and skills in order to help realise each others film projects.

1. CASTING/CREWING:
- MovieBar's olde daddy, Luther needs an editor
I'm looking for an editor with their own equipment and a love of the fantastique to help bring an objective eye to my 15 minute fantasy/thriller "Goodnight, Halloween."

After a protracted post production period involving a lot of animation and design work I now have all the completed footage, but want to find an enthusiastic editor to help bring this complex project to a conclusion ready for the final visual FX work to be completed and the sound design etc.

As I've had many issue involving Final Cut Pro and PC users, I'm looking for someone who edits on a Mac only as it'll save me plenty of headaches in the long run!

As I want to work closely with the editor, I'm really looking for someone around the Sussex region ONLY. Any interested applicants please get in touch with links to completed work which is online, or if you have a dvd of work that you can post to me.

Goodnight, Halloween is set in an alternative Detroit in 1986... halloween creatures, now being exterminated by militia groups, are in hiding... and one particular group may have the evidence to discredit KRONA, the fascist organisation that pulls the strings of the stooge government... if only they can stay alive long enough to load their evidence up to the network...

I'm a film maker based in Worthing - I've got another 2 shorts almost completed (a 20 minute drama and a 5 minute horror) which are about to be submitted to various festivals and in pre-production on a 5 minute comedy drama.
You can see my latest completed film "The Crunch" at http://www.vimeo.com/21343985?ab
Please drop me a line at fasterproductions@yahoo.co.uk
Ta, Luther

- Luther is also needs an actress...
I'm looking at shooting a 5 minute short in Worthing hopefully around mid June and I need an actress for it. I'm looking for someone in their mid 20s - early 30s who can play with an East European afflected english accent.

Ideally the actress would already be based around Brighton / Worthing to help me keep transport costs down.
It's an expenses only gig, but the actress would get a copy of the film on dvd and of course kept informed of any screenings the film receives.

As I don't have a great deal of time to do the casting (family commitments) I'm really looking for people who either have work available to view online or have dvd showreels that they can send me, so I'll be looking at any one like that as a priority.
Anyone who is interested lease ask them to drop me a line at fasterproductions@yahoo.co.uk
I'm not looking for any other roles to be filled at this stage, so please no asking me to keep CVs for consideration for other films!
Ta loads, Luth
