Welcome to our Blog!

1. CASTING/CREWING -

-- Help Support a Leeds Feature
From our Leeds Branch in case anyone can help or at least support by liking the project on facebook.

My name is Greig Johnson and I have been writing, directing and producing independent digital shorts and music videos for ten years. I now have a feature length script for a low budget, Yorkshire-based comedy (one reader said 'The Man Who Fell To Earth' collides with 'The Royal Tennenbaums', in Harrogate) and am looking for a producer with whom to form a creative partnership. The project primarily requires budgeting before we can begin fundraising.

In 2004, my film Hilarity was shortlisted for the BBC Talent New Filmmaker Award and Best UK Short at Leeds International Film Festival. Most recently, my adaptation of William Burroughs' MR BRADLEY MR MARTIN HEAR US THROUGH THE HOLE IN THIN AIR was nominated for Best Yorkshire Short at both Leeds and Hull International Film Festivals 2010, as well as screening at Raindance, the Zebra Poetry Film Festival in Berlin, the Fantasia genre festival in Montreal and Odense International Film Festival in Denmark.

Half Moon is seeking artists, interested in creating performances for young people, for our acclaimed Exchange For Change artform development programme, which in 2011 focuses on creating new work for 7-11s. -- Craft of Acting Workshops
“The Craft of Acting” workshops are weekly sessions in which we'll explore together different acting techniques and approaches. From text work to character building; from movement based training to improvisation.

The participants will be lead through exercises and techniques I have encountered in my training and coaching, enriched with the deeper practical understanding coming from first hand professional experience.

We welcome actors and performers of all levels. But also directors, writers and other practitioners interested in understanding this craft. If you are just getting started or need to keep up existing skills, you will be encouraged to explore new territories or to consolidate and share your knowledge in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.

In the first session we will cover the fundamentals of the craft, the building blocks. What do we need to be good actors?

Participants will be asked to contribute on a donation basis.

Every Wednesday 6pm - 8pm

- Marwood Cafe Virals (expenses/coffee/booze)
Its like a mini Challenge so get involved and keep your hand in before the main event next month!
Our home Cafe is needing some quick'n'quirky adverts...in Rich's own words...

'I'm looking for some viral advertising to promote Marwood. I'd like it on a smart phone format. So that hopefully it'll get fired all around the world. Whether it's an overdub of Monkey Magic "I've had too much coffeeeeeee monkey!" or just something completely repulsive, a brick making love to a chicken. You have total carte blanche. I'd like to make people smile, be disturbed and slightly aroused at the same time.
'marwood's dad could kick Starbucks dad's Arse.'

'10secs max, your own body weight in coffee and a boozy screening'
