1.CASTING/CREWING-
--Chris regan is looking for some help on his upcoming short 'Jenny Ringo and the Monkey's Paw'. He is looking for crew and cast !

Outline:
Following a heated row occasional witch Jenny Ringo walks out on slacker flatmate Gavin leaving him to fend for himself for a couple of weeks. On her return she finds that Gavin has been given a monkeys paw by a magician he met on the seafront that has granted him three wishes. He used the wishes to replace Jenny with what he thinks are the perfect flatmates. But the glossy exterior of the shiny new flatmates is merely covering a malevolent force that intends to take over their flat forever. Together Jenny and Gavin must overcome their differences in order to unravel the secrets of the monkeys paw.

We are a mini-company comprising an experienced screenwriter and maker of short movies and a producer with a theatre background. The film will be submitted to festivals and screened in Brighton.

Auditions are likely to take place in Brighton on 22/23 May, filming some weekends June and July in Brighton; local actors preferable. This is expenses only; we will also provide food, dvd copy of the finished film and showreel material.

Crew required:

1) Director of Photography
Some experience preferred, own equipment would be a bonus.

2) Sound Recordist
Ideally with own equipment.

Cast required

1) Jenny Ringo
Female, 20-25
Goth/Alternative - tattoos, piercings, all hair colours and styles welcome!
Jenny is kind of the Worst Witch grown up, or at least she would be but is frequently disappointed with the limits of actual witchcraft. She is extremely open-minded, doesn't shock easily and takes in the most unusual occurrences without too much trouble. She is confident, strong-willed and occasionally impatient, but will put up a fight to protect herself and her friends. The film is told from Jenny's point of view and she often talks directly to camera.

2) Gavin
Male, 20-25
Gavin is a born slacker who takes life as it comes and puts his faith in the belief that most problems will sort themselves out. He has an unorthodox idea of how the world works but occasionally his more nonsensical ideas happen to be more accurate than even he realises. He shares a flat with Jenny and they used be best friends, but Gavin's growing laziness has forced Jenny to become more responsible, causing friction between them. The crucial part of his role is his relationship with Jenny and how they interact.

3) Jeff
Male, 20-30
Jeff is perfect. He is handsome, polite, charming and someone everyone loves to be around. However his extreme narcissism extends to wanting the whole world to be like him and he sometimes struggles to hide his disappointment with mere mortals. Because in reality he is more than this - a magical construct fuelled by a malevolent force that wants to live in a world full of Jeffs.

4) Candy
Female, 20-30
Candy is perfect. She is gorgeous, alluring and fun and although her perfection can sometimes seem a little artificial. She and Jeff are so perfect they make the perfect couple and frequently amaze each other with their own awesomeness. Underneath it all she hides a darker creature, joining Jeff in his quest to make all the world like them. She often acts as Jeff's enforcer, breaking the beautiful cover when necessary to prove they mean business.

Provisional dates:

Auditions - 22nd of May (and possibly another date tbc)
First shoot - 19th & 20th June
Second shoot - 3rd & 4th July (and probably another date tbc)

--Alan hanson is looking for help wiht a virgin media shorts project.
I've only just started to try and set this up, so I'm still looking for people to help me make it. I need...

A camera operator (with own equipment).

A producer to help me with scheduling, locations etc.

An actor aged 18-29, who can look a bit bumbling and aimiable.

An actor aged 30+, who can convincingly play a shopkeeper.

An actress aged 18-29, who can convincingly play a shoplifter.

An editor (with own equipment).

As I want to enter the film into Virgin Media Shorts, everyone should be available between now and June 28th. I think it would only take three half-days to film, at the most.

--Charley ryan from the brighton film school is looking for cast for a 35mm project.
We're looking to cast a small production, in connection with Brighton Film School & Studio's. The short film, will be approximately 5-6 minutes long and is of the sci fi thriller genre. It will be shot on 35mm, in a studio and on location. The film is about a young man who wakes up after a night out, his room has been altered and he can't quite remember the events of his evening. He's having terrible flashbacks but never quite understands them. As he goes into the bathroom, there is a knock at the door, two characters are there. Plain clothes police officers have come to arrest him. During his interrogation he continues to have violent flashbacks but still cannot recall the events. In his cell he tries to remember, has he commited a terrible crime? We're looking for 4 roles, plus extras for some scenes. We need the male lead, the two plain clothed polices officers and the female character. Casting is on Thursday 13th May 2010 6pm at Brighton Film School,

--Tim earl is looking for a hedgehog !
I need a hedgehog ... or at least some footage of one. I would like to
get two shots of a hedgehog, one feeding calmly and one being startled
in the morning. If anybody knows of a friendly hedgehog that I could
film, it would be a big help. Failing that, I suppose I could also try
to to incorporate some existing footage if anyone has any (any hedgehog
fetishists out there?).
